From the outside, the Yoga Book 9i doesn't look much different from laptops in general. But when you open it, you're greeted by two 13.3-inch 2.8K OLED displays that dominate the inside of the device. This means that, unlike ASUS rivals, there's no room for a physical keyboard, at least not on the body of the device. However, to support all types of setups and use cases, Lenovo also offers a variety of built-in accessories, including a foldable stand, a detachable Bluetooth keyboard, and a stylus. And it's this combination of peripherals that really makes the Yoga Book 9i more than just a cover.

When resting on the stand, you can position the laptop screens in a side-by-side or stacked orientation, providing plenty of vertical screen space, or a more traditional dual screen, depending on your needs. So all you have to do is slam the BT keyboard on the table and suddenly you have a device that looks more like an all-in-one laptop desktop.
Lenovo also has a few software tricks to get the most out of the various display modes. For example, when the Yoga Book 9i's screens are stacked on top of each other, you can tap the screen with five fingers to stretch a single window across both screens in what the company calls waterfall mode. Alternatively, when you want to move a window from one screen to another, just swipe to send the app up or down. And similar to what we've seen on the ThinkPad X1 Fold, Lenovo has various grid options so you can use dual, triple, or quad app layouts to maximize your multitasking.

In addition to the standard pen and handwriting, you can use the Yoga Book pen to capture screenshots, then press a button to automatically insert them into a new OneNote file. This makes it very easy to take minutes or save ideas from brainstorming sessions during meetings.

And of course, if space is a concern, you can always use the Yoga Book 9i in folded mode, using the on-screen virtual keyboard, or simply placing the BT keyboard on top of the bottom screen. I also really appreciate some of the little plugins that Lenovo includes to support various writing layouts. By pushing the keyboard towards the screen (either the physical keyboard or the virtual keyboard with an eight-finger swipe gesture), you can activate the virtual (albeit rather small) touchpad. Or, if you attach an external mouse, you can move the keyboard forward to display a row of widgets for things like weather, news, and more.

Specs-wise, the Yoga Book 9i is well equipped with a 13th generation Intel Core i7 CPU, up to 16GB DDR5 RAM, 512GB storage, and three USB-C ports with Thunderbolt 4. Slim at just 0.63 inches thick, Lenovo has nailed it. crams a large 80Whr battery inside. That's important because these dual OLED displays are very power hungry, and the company claims the laptop will last around seven hours in dual-screen mode, or nearly 14 hours when using just one display.
